PGA Tour Champions Players

Through The U.S. Senior Open

July 8, 2025

Padraig Harrington won his 10th PGA Tour Champions event and his first event this season at the U.S. Senior Open.  It was his second U.S. Senior Open title.

In a shocking situation, Steve Stricker, who led the Power Performance Rankings for more than two seasons, has been dropped for insufficient points.  Stewart Cink remains in the top spot in the Rankings with the U.S. Senior Open winner, Padraig Harrington, now in 3rd place.

Harrington was challenged by Stewart Cink who finished second, one shot back. The two played together every day of the tournament.

“It was tension filled. All day it was tight and close,” Harrington said. “I don't watch leaderboards, so I think about through 13 holes I turned to my caddie and said, is anybody else in this?”

As it turned out, Miguel Angel Jimenez was also in contention, having made eight birdies to pull within one shot of the lead.  That worried Harrington because he knew Jimenez, with four victories this season, most recently at Kaulig, could be a threat.

His caddie came to the rescue in a way.

“Ronan (Ronan Flood, Harrington’s caddie) then said something to me, reminded me of something that Hale Irwin told me over the years,” Harrington said. “He said, always hit the shot you would hit if you're one shot behind, and that kind of gave good clarity to what I was going to do.”

His second shot to the 18th hit and stopped.

“I knew it wouldn't spin back because it was a half wedge,” Harrington explained. “I would have struggled to two-putt from 40 feet, so I was very happy to have two to win from six feet.”

Rankings are based on 12-month performances of Champions Tour players. When a tournament is played, the previous year’s results are dropped. Losing a high finish, dropping a low finish, adding a new high finish or a new low finish affects standings. Players must have a minimum number of points to be included in the rankings, but all players are tracked.

In the chart:
