2026 Rankings
PGA Tour Champions Players
Through Mitsubishi Electric Classic
April 29, 2026
Two-time U.S. Open champ Retief Goosen won the Mitsubishi Electric Classic for his fifth PGA Tour Champions title. Amazingly, it was 24 years after he won the BellSouth Classic on the same course, the TPC Sugarloaf in Duluth, Georgia.
The tournament was played with the Stableford format, and Goosen birdied the 18th hole to give him a total of 39 points. He defeated Stephen Ames by two points. Zach Johnson was third.
“I think the biggest emotion is that I've won in front of my son, him actually seeing me win, not seeing me on TV win,” Goosen said. “Last time I won in front of him he was one year old in 2004's U.S. Open, so really proud moment to have him here and see me lifting a trophy.”
He joked that he was only 42 victories behind Bernhard Langer.
When it was pointed out that he looked calm, he said, “As you get older, you get a little more nervy and start doubting yourself, but I think the experience that I've had around this course helped.”
He also credited his putting, but amazingly he changed his putter grip in the pro-am on Thursday.
“I went from being the two thumb grip to just a normal reverse overlap that I've always putted with. I changed that the second nine of the pro-am on Thursday,” he explained. “I suddenly felt like, oh, this feels OK, maybe I should go back there. I stuck with it and there we go.”
It was Goosen’s 150th PGA Tour Champions tournament.
Changes in the Rankings:
Biggest Moves Up: Charlie Wi, from 15th to 11th; Alex Cejka, from 20th to 16th.
Biggest Moves Down: Angel Cabrera, from 9th to 13th; Jerry Kelly, from 24th to 28th.
Rankings are based on 12-month performances of Champions Tour players. When a tournament is played, the previous year’s results are dropped. Losing a high finish, dropping a low finish, adding a new high finish or a new low finish affects standings. Players must have a minimum number of points to be included in the rankings, but all players are tracked.
In the chart: Blue bold italic indicates change from last week. Shaded with yellow indicates largest changes. Orange is for dropped players and Green is for returning or entering players. Red is for winners. $$ column of numbers reflects position on Champions Tour money list.
